I don't watch much television, but I do often take a look at a new series if it has had favorable reviews. So I watched "Life on Mars" tonight and though it was fairly good.

But I am reasonably sure that New York did not have photos on drivers licenses in 1973. I'm not sure when they were introduced, but I am reasonably sure it was some time after I graduated from high school. Which was in 1976, if you're keeping count.

I have, sadly, failed miserably in finding confirmation of this on line, however.

I know in Pennsylvania they phased in the photos in 1978, because my sister who was here for college at the time had to go and get a second license in order to get one with a picture. I remember her letter about it to us very clearly and she sent her old, non-photo license to my father as a thank you for teaching her to drive.
