Before I write the last travel catch-up post (and a subsequent post on what I’ve done since I got back), here is the other set of answers to July prompts.

1. What brand of face wash do you use? I just use ordinary soap and have no real brand loyalty. It’s probably most often Neutrogena, I think.

2. When’s the last time you went to a nightclub? A lot of years ago.

3. Do you play sports? Not in many years. In high school, I played tennis and badminton. I played tennis once in a while in college, but not really since then.

4. When was the last time you felt relieved? I feel relieved whenever a plane I have scheduled is close to on-time.

5. What’s a food that you like every once in awhile but not often? Pizza. I don’t eat it more than every few months, but when I want it, I really need to have it.

6. After taking a shower, do you change in the bathroom or the bedroom? I go into my bedroom to get dressed.

7. Do you have an ink color you prefer to right in? I prefer to write with black ink, but I right things (i.e. correct them) in red ink.

8. What was the last advice you gave someone? I advised a friend on when she should renew her passport.

9. What is something that you wish you could express? I can’t think of anything, offhand.

10. What is something of which you need more in your life? Consistency. I think my time management is pretty chaotic and that can get stressful.

11. Which aspect of your daily routine takes the most time? I don’t really have a daily routine, per se. I do spend time every day making to-do lists.

12. Do you enjoy garage/estate sales? Yes, but I try to avoid them since I don’t need more stuff.

13. What’s currently bothering you? Trying to figure out tickets for a lot of things I want to do, several of which are scheduled for the same time.

14. Would you go back in time if you were given the chance? I doubt it. The past was, in general, nasty, brutish, and unhygienic.

15. Who was the last person to call you? My friend, Cindy, to discuss going out for our birthdays (which are a few days apart).

16. What’s your favorite vegetable? At the moment, corn is in season and, hence, very good. Other options are green beans, asparagus, mushrooms, and carrots.

17. Ever done karaoke? Sort of. I’d never go to a karaoke bar, but they have a karaoke booth at Planet Word and a friend and I did “Sweet Caroline.”

18. Do you have a preferred toothpaste brand? Aquafresh, because it is cheap and nicely minty.

19. Would you prefer an ice cream sundae or an ice cream cone? It depends on my mood. Most often, I’d actually prefer a cup of ice cream to either.

20. What was the last thing you forgot to do? Um, achieve total world domination?

21. Does it bother you when people are not on time? Very much so. I know a couple of people who are chronically late and I have been known to lie to them about what time something starts so they will show up on time.

22. Who does the grocery shopping in your life? I do.

23. Are you shorter or taller than most of your friends? I’m shorter than most of the men and taller than most of the women.

24. Do you drink enough water? Probably not, though I am trying to do better on that.

25. Do you like having your picture taken? It depends on the circumstances. I’m fine with it if I’m dressed up for something or doing something interesting (like feeding lorikeets). But other times, I just grin and bear it.

26. Who/What did you last spend time worrying about? Getting some things fixed / replaced around the house. As far as I can tell, nobody knows a good handyman.

27. When did you last swallow your beliefs to avoid an argument or confrontation? I generally avoid discussing political issues in non-political settings, largely because I don’t think people are likely to change their minds.

28. Are you a very affectionate person? Only with the right person.

29. What are you looking forward to? Genealogy conference this week. New York next weekend.

30. How many true best friends are present in your life? Um, maybe two? I mean, I have lots of friends, but there are only a handful who I’d call in an emergency.

31. Have you ever stayed up late talking to someone you like on the phone or online? Plenty of times.

Even reading the song title "Sweet Caroline" made me follow up with "buh buh bUHHH: in my head afterwards.

There are so many handymen in the world and yet it's impossible to find a reliable one.
