Best laid plans

fauxkloreI was having a good time in Chicago, until Sunday night when I fell on an uneven bit of sidewalk. I did not, at first, realize how hurt I was, but was in more pain as the night wore on. Instead of taking the train to New Orleans as planned, I came home, where I went to urgent care and found out I have broken my 9th posterior lateral left rib.
This is the worst pain I remember in my life. Tylenol helps some; ice helps less. I can look forward to about six weeks of misery.
