U. Utah Phillips

In case you missed the news, singer/storyteller U. Utah Phillips has died. That's not entirely surprising since, although he was only 73, he'd been in poor health for some time. In fact, I never saw him live because he was forced to cancel a show I was going to go to. But I do chuckle just thinking about his recording of "Moose Turd Pie."

Shameless Self-Promotion: Weekend Edition

This coming weekend is the Washington Folk Festival. While it runs both Saturday and Sunday, the important thing for you all to know (from my standpoint) is that I'll be doing a storytelling performance on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. My program is titled "Beastly Babble" and involves stories of talking animals and people who don't always listen enough.

The event is at Glen Echo Park in Maryland.
