fauxkloreIt's been a long day, flying from Honiara to Port Vila to Nadi to Los Angeles to Washington Dulles. The biggest snag in getting home was the taxi driver who managed not to be able to find the Beltway. My bag made it, too.
The highlight of the trip was watching the eclipse from Ouba Islet in Kiribati. The Solomon Islands proved my travel dictum that the best time to go somewhere is a few years after a civil war, when it is safe enough to go, but normal people don't realize that it's safe.
And, yes, I am now behind by three travelogues, sigh.
I don't expect to be at work particularly early tomorrow.
