Since we were released early from work and I had actually finished the stuff on my to-do list, I finally went to see Milk this afternoon. I thought it was quite good, for the most part, though they did get some small details wrong (e.g. exactly what the twinkie defense was about). That was a minor point and the details are hardly the point in a film. They got the feel of the characters and the conflicts right. It was also a powerful reminder of how times have changed (and, alas, how they still haven't in some instances). I thought it worth seeing.

They also had the signs wrong as he was driving into San Francisco -- they showed exit numbers, and those routes didn't have exit numbers then. But then again, I notice stuff like that -- last night, on CSI, Grissom was saying something along the lines of "and all the routes went along the 215 and the 93", and I knew there was a SoCal writer....
