A hands-free umbrella sounds like a good idea. Until you realize it comes with a harness and there's a 5-step process to unfolding it.

Personally, I want lackeys to accompany me, holding giant umbrellas over me.

I presume those lackeys are in addition to the lackeys carrying you on your sedan chair.

Nah, I like to walk. I do, however, want a couple of flunkeys laying down their cloaks on muddy paths for me. I also suspect that sedan chairs are none too comfortable. (And this from somebody who has suffered in more than one Kalahari Ferrari, i.e. a donkey cart, in her life.)

At my previous job, I had a longstanding discussion with one of my colleagues about the relative ranking of minions, lackeys, flunkeys and henchmen.
