Oh yes. I can't imagine how people (who are not impeded in some way that interferes with life activities) can go through part of life bored. I'm going to run out of time way before I run out of things I want to do.
Like you, I want to retire as soon as I safely do so, so I can get to all that other stuff. I'm not one of those people who wants to work till I drop, well past the point where I need to... I intend to volunteer some of my professional services in the future, so it's not like I'd lose the ability to do that stuff, but I look forward to the day when I do all that on my terms.
