Chickens at Work
May. 12th, 2009 08:20 pmYesterday, one of my colleagues was struggling over a particularly incomprehensible tasker. (By the way, "tasker" is Pentagon for what English speakers would call a "task" or "assignment.") She finally declared that it was "like asking 'blue or pineapple?' and answering that age-old question 'which came first, the chicken or the potato?'" To which I, of course, replied, "plaid."
Today my government grand-boss decided to use chicken pieces as an analogy for a problem. "You could be buying 18 beaks and it's an ugly chicken," he said.
My work life can get a tad surreal.
