Story Swap
Jan. 17th, 2009 10:47 pmI ran a few errands during the day, though it took me a long time to get up the courage to brave the frigid temperatures and get out of the house. The freezer is full (as is the pantry) so I feel prepared for whatever other indignities Ma Nature might throw at us. Actually, the forecast is for it to get warmer, but they are talking about the ever dreaded wintry mix for tomorrow afternoon / evening. I have theatre tickets so I can't just hole up in my condo, either.
Anyway, on my way home from doing other chores, I stopped in at Pie Gourmet and picked up a raspberry peach pie, which I brought to the story swap at Michael's tonight. I suspect the pie was a bigger hit than my story ("Why Leopard Lives in Caves") which I was telling for the first time. That's not a major issue, as stories need to be told a few times before they are ready for a broader audience.
There are some evenings when a theme develops and it seems there were a lot of thieves in tonight's stories. Alas, none of them fared all that well, leading us to discuss the need for more Robin Hood like stories. It was all, as usual, a fun evening.
