I will get back to catching up real soon now, but let’s get these out of the way first.

1. Where would you like to retire to? That’s a tough question. Which is why I am still where I have been for 20-something years. The short version is that I love Boston, but it isn’t affordable and has this annoying thing called winter.

2. Do you play online multiplayer games? I don’t currently, but I did back in the 1990’s or so. I specifically played DLL (Dragons, Legends, and Lore) and Stick in the Mud and sometimes hung out on TinyTIM.

3. What is the longest you have ever slept? About 16 hours maybe? That was after having stayed up for roughly 60+ hours straight finishing a project when I was in grad school.

4. Who was the last person you called? One of the people I was traveling with this past weekend.

5. What was the last amusement park ride you went on? Do observation wheels count? Oh, wait, I went on the carousel at Glen Echo Park during the Washington Folk Festival in June. (For the record, I’m not much of an amusement park person.)

6. What is your favorite brand of pens? I mostly use pens from various hotels, since i tend to pick one up to write a note and then just put it in my pocketbook. But I am also quite fond of Frixion erasable pens.

7. What is the biggest waste of energy in your life right now? Trying to get control of my to-do list.

8. Do you set an alarm to wake up? Only if I have something I need to be up for at a particular time. Have I mentioned lately how nice it is to be retired?

9. What was the longest train ride you've been on? I think the longest in one go was from Vancouver to Jasper, which was about 19 hours.

10. What's the silliest thing you've believed, that turned out to be untrue? When I was a child, I believed that Martians came from the marshes.

11. Last movie watched? I saw Golda in a movie theatre a couple of weeks ago.

12. Have you ever taken a photograph with a celebrity? I kind of think I must have, but I don’t have a photo if I did.

13. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? It’s between reading, crafting, and napping.

14. Where in your house do you spend the most time in? Probably the bedroom.

15. What is the last meal you cooked? I just made stir fried vegetables with surimi and soba noodles.

16. What's the fanciest food you've ever ordered at a restaurant? Probably some vegetarian multi-course set menu that I had in Kyoto.

17. Do you enjoy camping? Very much. This is kind of funny since I’d never actually slept a night in a tent until I was nearly 40.

18. What kind of popcorn is your favorite? Just plain popcorn, lightly buttered, minimal salt.

19. What is your preferred way to learn a new skill? It depends on the skill. Mostly I learn by doing, but it helps to read about or watch videos beforehand sometimes. For some things, it helps to have someone show me something one on one.

20. What’s your favorite horror movie? I’m not really a horror movie person. Psychological horror is far scarier to me than monsters.

21. What is the last new thing you discovered that was really good? The gelato at Amorino in New York City.

22. What is one thing you don't mind spending a lot of money on? Travel. Duh.

23. What animal is the scariest in your opinion? Tasmanian devils just look so fierce.

24. What makes you laugh? I love puns and wordplay.

25. What are you craving right now? A slice of lemon meringue pie.

26. Do you have a sweet tooth? Sometimes.

27. Is your closet organized or disorganized? The actual clothes and accessories are well organized. The other stuff that gets stuffed into the closet to keep it out of the way, not so much.

28. What is the first word you'd use to describe yourself? Quirky.

29. What modes of transportation do you use? I use airplanes, ships, trains, buses, and cars somewhat regularly. But my most frequent mode of transportation is shank’s mare.

30. What was the last great book you read? The last book I read that I would wholeheartedly recommend to everyone is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.

31. What improvement would be the most beneficial to your life right now? Keeping more regular hours.
