I wanted to like the Prius, but the ergonomics and general usability (hello, rear visibility -- are you listening?) ruined it. I've wanted to like other Toyotas, but the ones I looked at always did that wacky "put the instruments panel in the middle" thing (I guess to save themselves a few dollars when they manufacture the cars for left-side-of-the-road countries). Not being able to change temperature or turn down the music is bad enough; if I also can't look down and instantly read the speedometer and other instruments, I don't care how attractive the car is in other ways.
