Amazing Race Wrap-up

First, I had an odd moment of creativity the other night and wrote what I think is the chorus of a folk song:
Everyone is someone else's weirdo
Everybody's strange to other folks
No matter how normal, you may think you are
You're just the butt of someone else's jokes
(I have a melody in my head, too, but haven't transcribed it yet).
But you really care what I thought of the latest episode of The Amazing Race.
Who knew that both the world's shortest man and world's tallest man live in Shanghai? Actually, the shortest man who was on the previous week's show passed away not long ago. Still, an odd tidbit.
Louis and Michael had finished last in the previous episode, which was a non-elimination leg. They had really done that to themselves, as "eagle eyes" apparently can't help you see what is right in front of you. This meant they had the speed bump to do this time, but what really did them in was the error Louis made in counting the statues. Of course, if Dan and Jordan hadn't waited two hours for them at the start, it wouldn't have even been close. I wonder if they could have come out ahead if they'd chosen to deliver the dumplings instead of searching for the chops. (And I am surprised that Dan and Jordan went for the chops, after having said they would never choose "needle in a haystack" detours.) I was disappointed in that result, since I think Dan and Jordan are annoying and their taxi meltdown reconfirmed my opinion. Screaming in English to somebody who only speaks Chinese isn't going to help them understand.
I wonder if the producers realized the teams would have so much trouble finding out where the Garden Bridge was. Brent and Caite were lucky to find somebody who spoke good English and could help them right off. I was about to let up on her for a bit when she handled the bus map well, but then it took her 4 tries to count the statues. (Louis needed a second try, but he realized his error was in not reading the clue. Caite just couldn't count.) What really got to me about Caite though was her not wanting to let Brent use the bathroom. Talk about being pissed with somebody.
Which leaves the cowboys. They had a little trouble at the start, but did find a cab driver who spoke English and who could call for information, which was good. And Jet was very careful about the clue, realizing he had to count the two big statues as well as the Buddhas. I imagine they were frustrated while searching the chops, but they just keep their cool so well.
In case it isn't obvious, yes, I am rooting for the cowboys.
I suspect, alas, that there will be a flight bunching that will even things up on the final episode.
