I wrote this early yesterday morning and then forgot to post it.

1. Do you knit, crochet, or cross stitch? All of the above, and several other forms of needlework (tatting, nalbinding, needlepoint). Basically, if it involves pointy objects and cat toys, I do it.

2. Are there any movies you can watch over and over? There are a few. Local Hero is my favorite movie and I’ve watched it several times.

3. Have you ever or would you like to attend a gaming or comic convention? I went to Awesome Con, a D.C. area comic con, with a friend a few years back. I’d probably enjoy a board game convention.

4. What is the last show you binge watched? Schmigadoon. I need to watch season 2 (Schmicago).

5. Do you like listening to new music or just sticking to your favorites? I like listening to new music. But it’s not always as easy as it used to be to find good sources for new music. Back in the old days, there used to be record stores with listening stations.

6. What was your first experience with success? I guess doing well at school as a child.

7. Are you brave when it comes to trying new foods? In general. I’ll try pretty much any kind of fruit or vegetable. I do, however, draw the line at insects.

8. When was the last time you went shopping? I went to REI the other day to buy long underwear.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? Going to the Bronx Zoo with my Grandpa. Also, going to the seaplane dock at the edge of my home town to watch the planes take off and land.

10. Are you interested in learning about other planets and discovering if there’s life on them? Im interested in learning about other planets, but I am fairly sure there isn’t life on them. (I’ve said this before - I think life is so improbable that we are most likely alone in the universe.)

11. Do you usually sleep with your bedroom/closet doors open or closed? I keep my closet door closed except when I am getting something out of my closet. I am inconsistent about which way my bedroom door is when I sleep.

12. Are there any relationships you'd like to fix? There are a couple of relationships I think are less than ideal, but that the other person involved doesn’t see anything at all amiss with.

13. Where is your next vacation? I’m taking a trip to Svalbard in mere days.

14. What are sensations or experiences that you tend to avoid? I am terrified of heights, so I stay away from cliff edges and ladders and roller coasters and such.

15. Can you hear a lot of traffic noise from your house? There isn’t much traffic in my neighborhood and my windows face the courtyard of my condo complex. So, no.

16. Do you ever use natural lighting to light your house rather than use a lamp? Yes, mostly in the afternoon.

17. Do you dislike any of your family members? As a child, I sometimes had to share a bed with my great-aunt Frieda, which was terrible because she kicked.

18. When was the last time you overslept? One of the great things about being retired is that I rarely have to be up at any particular time, so oversleeping would be difficult to do.

19. What time do you wake up in the morning? I often wake up about 5 a.m., read or do puzzles for a while, have breakfast, and go back to bed until 10ish.

20. Do you drink energy drinks? Only if you count coffee.

21. What is the last thing you purchased? As I mentioned above, long underwear.

22. Do you shut off the computer when you’re done using it? Not usually. In general, I only turn it off when I am going to be away for a while.

23. How often do you talk on the phone? Nearly every day.

24. What is something that is challenging you right now? Trying to declutter my condo.

25. What did you collect as a child? I collected several things. I had a set of dolls of the world, which were all made in China and had tacky national costumes. My mother made us choose which coins we’d collect and I ended up with dimes. (Mom collected quarters, I believe, and my brother collected pennies. I don’t know why nobody wanted nickels.) I also collected foreign coins, which started with buying a packet of them from a vending machine at Expo ’67 in Montreal.

26. When was the last time you went to a museum? A couple of weeks ago.

27. Do you put anything besides cheese on grilled cheese sandwiches? No.

28. When it comes to books, what do you think is the “perfect” amount of pages? It depends on the type of book. In general, 200 to 300 pages is good for most fiction.

29. Would you ever be interested in going scuba diving? Not really.

30. What posters did you have on your walls growing up? I remember having various pre-teen idols, like Bobby Sherman and Donny Osmond. After that, I had a Peter Max picture.

31. What was the first video game you remember playing? Either Pong or Breakout.
