I'll do a catch up of what I've been doing since I got back in the next couple of days. In the meantime, have some answers to prompts.

1. Best thing that happened today? I suppose I should have answered this with respect to May 1st, in which case it was finding a bleach chad at my local supermarket. I need to explain that this is a silly thing among a group of my friends about rescuing the plastic pieces that fill bottle handles (from bottles or milk or water or bleach and the like). It was only the second one I’d found.

2. Would you ever get someone’s name tattooed on you? No. I don’t do tattoos.

3. What was the first thing you ate today? Do you think I have any idea what the first thing I ate on May 3rd was? I assume it was cereal, since that is what I most often eat for breakfast. But it might have been blackberries, since it was a Tuesday and I go grocery shopping on Sundays.

4. Do you get motion sickness? Occasionally. I remember one night on the ferry I took up the coast of Labrador, for example, when we had to tie up overnight because of rough seas. But I think the worst time was in Peru on the flight over the Nazca Lines. The pilot banks the plane steeply from side to side so everyone can see the geoglyphs and that rapid rolling motion made all three passengers in the plane motion sick. (Fortunately, there were airsickness bags. And, yes, seeing the Nazca Lines was worth it despite the motion sickness.)

5. Longest plane ride you’ve ever been on? I’ve been on several long plane rides - Washington, D.C. to Tokyo, Sydney to Los Angeles, Hong Kong to San Francisco, Washington, D.C. to/from Dubai. So, certainly over 14 hours, but I can't be more precise.

6. How long was your last phone conversation you had? Only about 10 minutes.

7. Do you pull your band aids off slowly or rip them off quickly? Slowly.

8. Do you bite your nails? Sometimes, but I try to keep them short to remove temptation.

9. What’s the last thing you bought online? Do plane tickets count?

10. Do you like Sudoku puzzles? Not particularly. I prefer word puzzles, as they have more personality, vs. sudoku which are usually “written” by computers. I’ll do them if I don’t have anything more interesting around.

11. What’s the most laborious task you’ve ever completed? Probably moving.

12. Have you ever had the chicken pox? Yes, as a child.

13. What’s the farthest you’ve walked? In one go? 50 kilometers (31.2 miles) That was at the end of April 2013, when I did the Sierra Club One Day Hike of the C&O Canal towpath.

14. What was the last movie you saw and was it good? The last movie I saw in a theatre was The Duke. It was pretty good, though not quite what I was expecting.

15. What apps consume the most of your time and energy? Email, FaceBook, Bejeweled Blitz

16. Favorite line(s) from a song? “It’s an herb that’s superb for disturbances at sea.” That’s my favorite Sondheim rhyme (from “Chrysanthemum Tea” in Pacific Overtures).

17. Do you like sporting events? I love baseball. I am indifferent to most other sports.

18. How do you tend to view driving? A necessary evil.

19. If you could marry a cartoon character, who would it be? I always liked Brainiac-5 from the Legion of Super Heroes. Mostly, because of his green skin.

20. What’s one random thing that you don’t like? Bananas.

21. What’s one random thing that you like? Mosquito nets.

22. How do you typically style your hair? Does it take long? I pull it back into a pony tail. That takes next to no time.

23. Who’s the last person who you went out to eat with? My friend, Cindy, and I had dinner at The Tombs in Georgetown the other night before going to a show nearby.

24. Has anyone bought a gift for you recently? My friend, Kim, paid for a baseball ticket for me.

25. What’s on your schedule for tomorrow? A lot of household stuff. Kamishibai group in the evening.

26. What is one food combination you enjoy that others might think is weird? Gefilte fish with lots of horseradish.

27. What do you consider the biggest waste of your money? I hate spending money on insurance, but it is necessary to be prepared.

28. What was the last video you watched on Youtube? The Smothers Brothers song “Chocolate” (in response to the news story about the two men who did, indeed, fall into a vat of chocolate.

29. What is a question you will answer with no every time? Do you want to ride a roller coaster?

30. If there was a large spider in the room, would you stay? I would try to get the spider out of the room.

31. The general subject of your last text conversation? Artle (daily art puzzle from the National Gallery of Art).
