Graze Box #49
Jun. 26th, 2018 10:13 amRaspberry Coconut Muffin: This is a mixture of raspberry-flavored cranberries, coconut, almond slivers, and amaretti drops. It has 140 calories. This is a pretty good snack, especially if you eat all the components together. That is a little tricky, since there is a lot more coconut than anything else. I particularly like that it isn’t too sweet.
Pumpkin Spice Flapjack: This is a soft oat granola bar with pumpkin spice. It has 230 calories. While it seems slightly weird to eat things with pumpkin spice in June, this is good enough that I don’t care. The soft, chewy texture is excellent and the flavor is delicious. Graze flapjacks are the best!
The Cheese Board: This is a mixture of cheese-flavored almonds, cheddar bruschetta, gouda puffs, and cheese-flavored cashews. It has 110 calories. It’s a tasty, savory snack. I do wish there were more cashews in the mix, but that is a minor quibble.
Spicy Vegetable Protein: This is a mixture of jumbo chili corn, black beans, carrot chips, and wild rice sticks. It has 140 calories. The name really says not too spicy and it is, indeed, just mildly spicy. There’s plenty of crunch and flavor. I particularly like the wild rice sticks, but it all tastes good together.
White Chocolate with Wild Blueberry Toasts: This is exactly what the name suggests – toast pieces with wild blueberries, along with a white chocolate mixture to dip them into. It has 130 calories. This is very tasty, assuming, of course, that one likes both white chocolate and blueberries. And what human being (or, for that matter, bear) doesn’t?
Apple & Cinnamon Flapjack: This is a soft oat granola bar with apples and cinnamon. It has 240 calories. It’s not too sweet and the cinnamon flavor is just right.
Tropical Energizer Smoothie (new): This is a combination of spirulina bites, almonds, goldenberries, and coconut flakes. It has 150 calories. I’m sad to say that this didn’t work for me at all. The goldenberries (a silly name for Cape gooseberries) are delicious and I am fine with almonds and coconut, although there is rather too much of the latter. But I found the spirulina bites to be unpleasant. Looking at the ingredients in them, which include dates, almonds, coconut, and pineapple juice, along with the spirulina powder, they sound like they should be fine. Alas, they just didn’t work for me. I trashed this snack so I won’t have to get them again.
Smokin’ Protein Kick: This is a mix of chili lemon fava beans, raw almonds, hickory-smoked almonds, and roasted pumpkin seeds. It has 170 calories. I found this to be a tasty savory snack, with a good mix of flavors. The ingredients were well-proportioned, so it was easy to eat all of them together, too.
