They've started up a farmer's market right behind the building I work in. It's Tuesdays from 3-7 p.m., which is ideal for picking up a few things on the way home. If I were going to be home, I'd have bought more today, but at least I now have strawberries for breakfast.

By the way, the website claims that one of the participating farms will be bringing alpaca yarn. They weren't there this week.

I am also puzzled over how Guatemalan coffee beans qualify for a farmer's market in Northern Virginia.

I'm looking forward to the Farmer's Markets around here. If I miss them (and I usually do, dammitall), I try to get to the local co-op.

I've decided I need a table or jig saw in my kitchen. I want some spaghetti squash and butternut, but I can't (literally) hack it.

Hmm... Black and Decker does make kitchen equipment... so maybe it wouldn't be totally out of place. Ha!

You can bake spaghetti squash whole, in which case it becomes soft enough to cut easily.

I usually buy butternut squash already cut up because I am too lazy to deal with it otherwise.
