Still Not Home
The flight from Antananarivo was delayed and I missed the connection to JFK.
The South African Air transfer desk was less than helpful, especially as I am traveling on a frequent flyer ticket. For example, they insisted I had to go to the other ticket office, but would not tell me where that was.
They did eventually put all of us who had missed our connections in a hotel.
Since they didn't actually rebook me last night, I came to the airport fairly
early this morning - which surprised the ticketing agent who had no problem
booking me direct to IAD. I have a boarding pass and the flight boards in a couple of hours, so I am hopeful.
As I have said before, this is the 21st century. I am reasonably sure I was
promised that we would have teleportation by now.

Hey, I'm still waiting on the jetpacks and rocket-cars we were all supposed to be tooling around in <insert jumpy filmstrip narrator voice here> by the year 2000!
Jetpacks
As does the Dick Tracy wrist phone.
