I Like Nuts! (the musical)
This show was part of the Capital Fringe Festival. One can argue a lot about what qualifies a show for fringiness, but a musical about liking nuts would seem to meet any qualifications one might choose.
The plot, such as it is, involves Horatio Hornbeam's quest to learn all about nuts so he can get a job at the nut factory. He is joined by a variety of other characters (a vegan vampire who wants to be a motivational speaker, a pirate who wants to do stand-up comedy, a robot who wants to be loved as a person), helps out a couple of angry squirrels, and goes to Norway on his quest for nutty knowledge. It was reasonably amusing, with a few cute songs. I'll particularly note the title song and a number (sung by the female angry squirrel) titled "Everyone I Know is a Moron."
There's nothing profound here, but it was good for a few chuckles.
