Mixed Metaphors

I am back from my business trip and too tired to write much of any substance. I'm glad I went to the meeting, but it was fairly painful at times. At least I have a reasonably light weekend ahead, so I should be able to get caught up on a number of things, including the backlog here.

In the interest of keeping up with the daily entries for the month, I thought I would pass along two badly mixed metaphors I heard used by the same person at a meeting a few weeks ago. I decided that it was best not to mention the source by name, but I assure you these are actual quotes and the person who said them is a native speaker of English.

1) "You don't want to be the canary getting out in front of the train."

2) "You're the people at the pointy end of the sphere."
